The new NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence on Shaping Markets for Health Equity will launch on 19th May.
Hothouse Director, Professor Sharon Friel, is a Chief Investigator for the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence on Shaping Markets for Health. This program of research will bring together experts in Public Health, Law, Business, and Economics to focus on how financialisation, and privatisation of government services and assets have shaped health outcomes across many sectors, and on how business practices affect the health of consumers and employees.
Join Professor Friel and other members of the team for the launch, which will include a panel discussion tackling the question, 'Can markets be shaped to produce health and wellbeing?'. Facilitated by Paul Barclay from ABC Radio National, panellists are Dr Greg Ogle (SACOSS), Brenton Cox (Adelaide Airport), Professor Fran Baum (Adelaide University and CRE Chief Investigator) and Professor Sharon Friel.
